Languages are a key learning area but not all students are offered the same learning opportunities.
In Victoria, Italian is one of the six most studied languages. Its implementation has generated high numbers of second languages programs but only one bilingual program.
This research uses Q methodology to identify Viewpoints about languages education held by principals, teachers and parents, and considers the impact these Viewpoints may have on the choice of languages and types of programs delivered in primary schools.
