The Lockington district 1840-1965: a survey of changing settlement and land use patterns
    Anderson, Helen E. ( 1965)
The aims of this study are fourfold: 1. to study the history of settlement and landuse in the Lockington area, to trace these changing patterns and to explain and account for the changes. 2. to study the most recent developments and trends in the area and if possible, to explain and account for these. 3. to ascertain in this fairly marginal area the relative importance of the various factors influencing its development, and to explain and account for any changes in these. 4. to see, if possible, how far this detailed local study fits in with the generalizations of history books - particularly until closer settlement in 1911.
