    This record is for a rendered live performance of three musicians on trumpet, trombone and guitar. The performance comprised of compositions: Slow Air, Andrew Ford; Country Crow Shuffle, Jane Hammond; Pinwheel, Wally Gun; Despite Our Silent Elders, Elliott Hughes; Undercurrent, Katy Abbott Kvasnica; and New Work, Harry Sdraulig. Four compositions written for this group were premiered in this performance - Country Crow Shuffle, Despite Our Silent Elders, Undercurrent and New Work. A capacity audience enjoyed Ensemble Three's eclectic mix of new Australian repertoire.

    Contextualizing Carter: Australian Premieres of Modernist Masterpieces

    This concert of masterworks by the American modernist composer Elliot Carter brought together a unique combination of solo and ensemble works. Titled "Retracings," the program illuminated key developments in the late style of this legendary American composer. Works for solo guitar, trumpet and trombone were performed and later re-contextualized in larger ensemble works, highlighting Carter’s compositional practice of self-borrowing. Ken Murray, Joel Brennan and Don Immel facilitated the content and organization of this exceptional program. Compositions by Charles Ives and Australian composer Elliot Gyger, completed the program.

    Ensemble Three plays new Australian Works - ABC Live Broadcast

    Ensemble Three was selected by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation to give a live broadcast on their Sunday Live series as a result of the ensemble's track record of excellence in performance and because of the innovative programming. The weekly Sunday Live program hosts a live audience of 400 in Iwaki Auditorium and is broadcast live nationwide to an average audience of 250,000. In addition to this, the program is archived on the ABC website for a period of one month for on-demand streaming with an average listening rate of 5,000 to 10,000 people internationally.
