    Improved methods for heterodyne electro-optic probing

    This thesis introduces new techniques for improving the performance of electro-optic probing systems. A novel heterodyne architecture is proposed to increase sensitivity. Also, an innovative optical comb-based approach is used to overcome conventional bandwidth limitations. Finally, novel materials are investigated to pave the way for next generation electro-optic probes.
