WHO consolidated guidelines on tuberculosis. Module 5 management of tuberculosis in children and adolescents
World Health Organization, (World Health Organization, 2022-03-21)
Rationale for the development of the 2022 consolidated guidelines. Since the publication of the WHO Guidance for national tuberculosis programmes on the management of tuberculosis in children (second edition) (2014) (8), there have been numerous studies, including reviews, randomized controlled trials, observational studies, pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic studies, qualitative research and cost-effectiveness research, which have evaluated the impact of various interventions. These are related to diagnostic approaches for TB, treatment for drug-susceptible TB (DS-TB), drug-resistant TB (DR-TB) and TB meningitis (TBM), as well as models of TB care, relevant to children and adolescents. Therefore, it was timely to review this new evidence and to update the recommendations from 2014. Other recommendations in the 2014 guidance were reviewed for their continued relevance. It was agreed that the new guidelines should be consolidated, bringing together new recommendations as well as existing recommendations with relevance to children and adolescents.

Manual of Travel Medicine Fourth Edition
    Torresi, J ; McGuinness, S ; Leder, K ; O'Brien, D ; Ruff, T ; Starr, M ; Gibney, K (Springer Singapore, 2019)
The fourth edition of this well received book provides an authoritative and up-to-date resource to support good practice in travel medicine, a field that has evolved substantially in recent years. Concretely, there has been intensified monitoring of health problems among travelers, as well as extensive research efforts, which have led to the development of evidence-based approaches to the field. The book includes expert recommendations regarding e.g. immunizations, malaria prophylaxis, travelers’ diarrhea, altitude sickness, emerging infections, and non-infectious health issues encountered by travelers. It provides a practical approach to the pre-travel consultation and management of most issues that arise in medical care for travelers. In addition, it provides expert advice for high-risk travelers, e.g. those with immunosuppression, the elderly, pregnant women and young children. The text offers a user-friendly, practical handbook for healthcare practitioners during their clinical consultations, as well as nurses and pharmacists.
