    Abstract
This research was based on my personal experience of an artist residency to the Arctic Circle in 2015. I investigated the immersive nature of the Arctic Circle region in order to explore the relationship between natural environment and digital imaging. Through the synthesis of sound, light, and image capture, my aim was to create a new form of environment that could be translated into an exhibition context. I tried to understand the ways in which framing and capturing an exterior landscape can bring sensations to an interior space. How can the frame contextualize natural spaces? I’m interested in modes of seeing the world and how digital imaging plays a role in the way we interact with these spaces. In my Masters of Fine Arts research, I explored the limitations of representation, the ways in which a virtual and imagined Arctic can be conveyed through my practice.
