A power house site, possibly at the construction site of the Umberumberka Reservoir north-west of Broken Hill, New South Wales. Broken Hill South was one of the largest of the Broken Hill lead-zinc mines and a major member of the Collins House group of companies. During the nineteen thirties it diversified into various other mining activities including a wide scale programme of mineral exploration. The mine itself closed in 1972 with the bulk of its operations being taken over by CRA, North Broken Hill and WMC. Inscription: "Power House Site" and "5.7.13" is written in ink on the photograph.
