Description
Abstract
Rehearsal photograph for SAVAGE, choreographed by Daniel Riley with Australian Dance Theatre's Company Artists. This work was performed on the 21-25 September at the Dunstan Playhouse, Adelaide, SA, and on the 29-30 September at the Canberra Theatre Centre, Canberra, ACT. SAVAGE explores our fundamental belief systems, our blind obedience and our belief in the truths and lies that have captured our imaginations, never really questioning what is underneath, below or hidden. SAVAGE is Daniel Riley's first major work for Australian Dance Theatre. A symbolic collection of ideas shaped into an urgent piece of dance theatre. Credits: Direction; Daniel Riley (Wiradjuri), Choreography; Daniel Riley with Australian Dance Theatre's Company Artists, Associate Director; Sarah-Jayne Howard, Dramaturgy; Kate Champion, Design (Set & Costume); Dean Cross (Worimi), Composition; James Howard (Jaadwa), Lighting Design; Matthew Adey, Costume Supervision; Renate Henschke, Production Manager; Simon Greer, Stage Manager; Briony Hunt, Production Assistant; Alex Mollison, Performers; Sebastian Geilings, Brianna Kell, Zachary Lopez, Jada Narkle, Darci O'Rourke, Zoe Woziniak, Daniel Riley, Jasmine Gray, Owen Masson Gray, Tayla Hoadley, Sophie Hollingworth, Bailey Kiejko, Beth Mooney, Bridgette Mullamphy, Nikita Pippet, and Kunyi Wu.
